We are Jez, Claire, Seb, Remi and Springer Spaniels Barney, Lola and Lenny. We gave up our home, work, school and life in the UK to travel and live nomadically in our self-built motorhome (or camper) Hector. We’re quite used to alternative living after building and inhabiting our house-boat for six years. We’ve also lovingly restored and renovated a 160 year old Landes house in South West France.
We’re each very much individuals but together we love to do life a little differently, always looking sideways and making the best of every opportunity or situation we find ourselves in. We’re passionate about living freely, slowly and with as little impact on this beautiful planet as possible. We love meeting people and learning as we go. Jez
I’ve spent a lot of my life travelling around the world and I’m really enjoying the relaxed pace of Nomadic van life. I’m a building contractor and project manager and can turn my hand to most things. I have loved making and converting all our homes, whether they have been houses, boats or camper vans. Surfing has always been my main passion and I do love a longboard ! Motorbikes come in a close second. Its always been about boards and bikes! My favourite place in the world is anywhere I am with my family. I love life on the open road, although my ultimate dream is to sail a catamaran around the world.
Claire
I love travel. I love meeting people, but more than that; I love animals. I love to hang out in the ocean, ramble through the forest and I start every day with a dance. I like to immerse myself in nature whenever possible. I have followed my passions by teaching yoga, grooming dogs holistically and naturally and also freelance marketing. I like to make things and am always on the hunt for new creative pursuits. I often come up with the (sometimes crazy) ideas ~ somehow they just seem to work.
Seb
I like travelling in our camper van Hector because going somewhere new is always exciting. My favourite place to go is Africa because I love the culture and architecture. I love to surf and skate and build things. My dream is to travel to Asia. I love being in or close to the sea as much as possible as I like to surf, snorkel and scuba dive. I am interested in marine animals and my favourite animals are Orcas. My favourite food is Thai!
REmi
I love to dance and swim. I love animals, especially donkeys. My baby doll, ‘Bebe’ comes everywhere with me. She likes me to read her stories. My favourite place is France. What I like about travelling in Hector is that you can go anywhere around the world. My favourite colour is turquoise like the ocean. I like playing music on my pink CD player. My favourite artists are Kidz Bop, Fleetwood Mac and The Beetles.
Barney ‘Bum’
As you can see from my picture, I love beaches and I love stones. I like to bury them and dig them out, and then do it all over again and again and again, I might be a senior spaniel of 13 years of age but I still love to gallop along the sand. I’ve travelled all of my life. At first it was just me, Mum and Dad. Then the others came along but I don’t mind as the more of us there are, the more food there is to share!
Lola ‘cuddle muffin’ Lee
I am the golden girl. I am pure love. I love everyone and everyone loves me, I don’t care where we are, as long as there are cuddles to be had. I love other dogs and people. I especially like birds ~ I can’t help myself but chase them from time to time. My favourite place is the beach so I can swim or an open meadow or field. I am partial to a cow pat. Or, for that matter, anything disgusting I can roll in.
Lenny Lee
I’m the newest addition to this family. At just 2-years old, I keep everyone on their toes. There’s no time to rest when we can be playing ball all day long. I don’t care where I am, just as long as I have my ball. I love my ball.
